Supporting cultural learning and Country connection through collaboration with Bindelong Aboriginal Corporation.
ReGen Alliance is excited to support one of our students to participate in an upcoming Cultural Burn Preparation Day, hosted by Bindelong Aboriginal Corporation.
This collaboration offers a powerful opportunity for young people to learn directly from Aboriginal land managers about traditional fire practices and the role of cultural burning in caring for Country. Unlike conventional hazard reduction burns, cultural burns are undertaken with deep ecological and cultural knowledge — respecting the seasons, local plant and animal life, and the ongoing connection Aboriginal people have with the land.
The experience will contribute to the student's understanding of Indigenous land management, ecological restoration, and the importance of cultural knowledge in environmental care.
ReGen Alliance recognises the value of First Nations leadership in environmental education and is committed to integrating cultural learning into our youth programs wherever possible.
We thank Bindelong Aboriginal Corporation for opening this opportunity and look forward to building stronger partnerships that honour both cultural knowledge and ecological restoration. Further updates and reflections from this collaboration will be shared following the event.
