Alesco Secondary College Environmental Connection Program 2025

In partnership with Alesco Secondary College – Elermore Vale, ReGen Alliance delivers a unique 8-month Youth Environmental Connection Program designed to engage and empower young people through hands-on conservation and ecosystem education.

This trauma-informed program combines regular classroom learning with monthly field visits to local Landcare sites. Students gain foundational ecological knowledge, practical bush regeneration skills, and a deeper connection to nature, community, and themselves.

Through activities like weed management, native planting, habitat restoration, species identification, and conservation technology (e.g. camera traps), students develop confidence, purpose, and real-world environmental skills — all while contributing to the regeneration of local ecosystems.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting students who may be disengaged from mainstream education by offering meaningful, nature-based pathways to growth, learning, and future opportunities.

This project is proudly funded by Hunter Region Landcare Network, whose support makes this youth-led environmental education possible.
